Insulation
What is Metal Building Insulation?
Metal building insulation is a material that provides thermal resistance, regulates temperature, and prevents moisture infiltration in metal structures. Properly insulated metal buildings enhance energy efficiency, reduce condensation, and improve the overall comfort level. And at Superior Commercial Structures, we provide several different insulation options for steel buildings; each with its own unique benefits.
Types of Insulation We Provide
Double Bubble Moisture Barrier
This insulation consists of two layers of polyethylene air bubbles sandwiched between two layers of metalized film. It works to prevent moisture intrusion into the building, and simultaneously helps regulate the internal temperature.
Spray Foam (SUBCONTRACTED)
This insulation is sprayed directly onto the metal panels, expanding to fill any gaps or voids. It provides superior thermal insulation and is highly effective in preventing air infiltration and heat loss.
2” Fiberglass
This blanket insulation, made from fiberglass, is installed between the metal panels. It offers a good level of thermal insulation, ensuring that the inside of the building remains temperate, even in extreme temperatures.
Astro Armour
Known for its high R-Value, Astro Armour provides outstanding thermal insulation. It’s an ideal solution for climate control in metal buildings and works well for repelling radiant heat.
The Importance of Metal Building Insulation
Insulating metal buildings is incredibly important. Proper insulation ensures energy efficiency, reducing heating and cooling costs. It also minimizes condensation, which can lead to mold and rust that shortens the structures’ lifespan. Additionally, insulation improves the overall comfort of your interior environment, creating a more stable and pleasant temperature throughout the year. With the right insulation, metal buildings offer a greater level of comfort and durability than most alternatives.
